-In 1992, he made his first career start at Atlanta.
-In 1995, he clinched his first title at Atlanta - then he did it again two more times in 1997 and 2001.
-In 1998, he was already the Champion - but he put an exclamation on his remarkable year by capturing his modern era record 13th win to close the season.
-In 2011, he outdueled Jimmie Johnson in an epic battle to claim his fifth and final Atlanta win and sole ownership of his ultimate position of third on the all-time wins list.
Finally, in 2015 he made his final Atlanta start driving a then brand new, shining silver No. 24 3M Chevrolet. The Hendrick Motorsports Vice Chairman has recently signed that very hood.
