On August 5, 2012, Jeff Gordon put the final touch on two records while kickstarting another.
On what would be the final restart of the day in the Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway, Gordon snaked his way through a wild wreck at the front to steal the lead for the first time all day moments before caution fell and rains curtailed the event. It would be his record fifth rain-shortened win, his record sixth Pocono win, and the first of a record five-straight at the “Tricky Triangle” for Hendrick Motorsports.
