With a dramatic late-race pass of a Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Kyle Larson scored his second NASCAR Cup Series® victory of the 2022 season at Watkins Glen International.
Larson and the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet lined up alongside the leader on the final restart of the Go Bowling at the Glen. The green flag flew with just five laps remaining and the 2021 champion used a bold move into turn one to his advantage.
Larson escaped the first turn with the lead that he would not relinquish in the final laps for his 18th career NASCAR Cup Series® win. The victory also completed the weekend sweep for Larson, as he also was the winner of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen the day before.
Larson’s fans can now celebrate the Watkins Glen victory with the official raced-win die-cast from Lionel Racing. Built on Lionel Racing’s new Next Gen tool, each die-cast recreates all the scuffs and markings seen on Larson’s Camaro in Victory Lane. Each 1:24-scale is available in two distinct trim levels – an Action Racing Collectables (ARC) hood-open model and also a fully die-cast ELITE version that is built with an opening hood and trunk. The ELITE also boasts a chassis plate that can be removed to reveal authentic undercarriage detail.
