On September 29, 1996, racing luminary Jeff Gordon claimed a hard-fought victory in what would be the final NASCAR Cup Series® points race held at North Wilkesboro Speedway for more than 25 years. After starting the race in second, the NASCAR Hall of Fame® driver ended up leading a total of 207 laps and crossed the finish line 1.73 seconds ahead of his competitors. The win became Gordon’s 10th of the 1996 season and assisted in extending his lead in the Drivers' Championship.

For the first time, Gordon's fans can now commemorate this momentous victory with the official Lionel Racing raced-win die-cast of his DuPont No. 24 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. This raced-win die-cast is offered in 1:24 scale and features authentic details such as an opening hood and trunk, a die-cast body and chassis, hand-applied decals, rolling Goodyear tires, and a driver-side window net.
