In 1996, Terry Labonte had one of the greatest seasons in his NASCAR Hall of Fame career while driving the flagship No. 5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. Fast forward to 2024, the 40th anniversary season for the Hendrick organization, and Kyle Larson will be honoring Labonte's 1996 championship with a special throwback paint scheme at Darlington Raceway.
Larson is now behind the wheel of the heralded No. 5 and is continuing the championship tradition that Labonte started in 1996. To celebrate Labonte's place in Hendrick Motorsports history, Larson's HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro will sport the same colors, stripe patterns, and throwback script at Darlington that Labonte's No. 5 had during his championship season.
